Children's Center Enrollment Begins
Open enrollment for Volunteers of America Children’s Center
The Volunteers of America Children’s Center is accepting open enrollment for children ages 13 months to 10 years of age. Located at 730 W. Union Street in Allentown, the Children’s Center offers affordable childcare for toddlers, preschool and school-age children.
Enrollment applications are available by contacting Dolores Swavely, director of the Children’s Center, at 610-432-8352.
The Children’s Center provides a creative curriculum that evaluates and addresses each child’s social, intellectual, emotional and cognitive development. The curriculum is based on literacy and language development, character building, computer skills, and creative arts.
“Our goal is to create a safe, nurturing, stimulating environment where children feel welcome and parents know peace of mind,” said Swavely. “We encourage parent communication and involvement. Parents can visit at any time without an appointment.”
Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The children enjoy fresh, nutritious breakfasts, lunches and afternoon snacks, prepared daily in the Center’s kitchen. Three age-appropriate fenced in playgrounds are provided on-site.
Accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young People and fully licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, the Children’s Center has a four-star rating from the Pennsylvania Keystone Stars system.
