Having More Fun Than Ever!
HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 6, 2006 — At the Children’s Center in Allentown, Al Bonnici feels like just one of the kids. “I’m having more fun at work than I ever have,” the retiree told Linda Rao, a contributing writer for Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network’s Healthy You magazine.
The July/August addition featured a smiling Al with a few kids who count on him to show them the magic of computers.
Al retired in 2003 after a long career in data processing and information technology. Now he’s at the Children’s Center every weekday, helping the children and staff use computers.
“I show them (children) once, and that’s all it takes,” he said. The children and staff use computers Al arranged to have donated by Air Products, PPL and Harleysville Bank.
“Al is a great help at the center and the kids love him,” said Dolores Swavely, director of the center.
