Pre-K Tax Credit News Alert
Did you know you can write your business tax check to Volunteers of America?
Hundreds of Pennsylvania businesses have proven to be interested and annually participate in Pennsylvania’s highly innovative and successful Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program by donating to approved local organizations like the Volunteers of America Children’s Center. In return, the EITC program provides companies with tax credits for donations to a nonprofit scholarship, educational improvement, or Pre-Kindergarten scholarship organization.
The Volunteers of America Children’s Center, serving the Lehigh Valley, is fully qualified and approved to participate in the Pre-K scholarship program. All Pre-K tax credit contributions to The Children’s Center will be used to subsidize the tuition expenses of pre-kindergarten children of low-income, working families.
For contributions to Pre-Kindergarten Scholarship Organizations, a business may receive a tax credit equal to 100% of the first $10,000 contributed and up to 90% of the remaining amount contributed up to a maximum credit of $150,000 annually.
Applying is as easy as filling out the one-page application or you can download an application at www.newpa.com/eitc. Click on “EITC Business Guidelines” and complete page 11 of the application.
These tax credits are awarded on a first come – first served basis, so timing is essential. We personally deliver the applications the morning of July 1. You can mail us your application in a sealed envelope, fax, or email us your application.
