Toy Drive lifts up the hearts of children in need.
Hundreds of needy children in Central Pennsylvania experienced the excitement and joy of receiving Christmas presents, thanks to the generosity of caring businesses, churches, organizations, individuals and families!
Several thousand new, unwrapped toys were collected in colorful Volunteers of America chimney boxes. The toys were distributed to deserving children in Dauphin, Cumberland and Perry Counties. Also, a party, held in conjunction with Hope Worldwide (www.centralpachurch.org) , provided an afternoon of food, music and fun for approximately 400 youngsters.
“Once again, we were blessed by the support of many people who wanted to reach out and uplift children in need,” said Alan Garner, president and CEO. “Volunteers of America brightened the lives of hundreds of children who would otherwise not have had a happy holiday.”
