You can uplift a life today!

During the next several weeks, more than 130 million Americans will receive an Economic Stimulus Act tax rebate.  While rebate recipients are being encouraged to immediately spend this money, we have another idea!  Why not consider donating a portion of your rebate to Volunteers of America of Pennsylvania.

It’s a simple idea with exciting potential.  As a “philanthropic investor” to Volunteers of America, you know that your support will help us transform lives in meaningful ways.  Since most people were not expecting this windfall, this is an opportunity to improve the local economy and provide relief to individuals and families who are truly in need.  In addition, your gift is fully tax deductible.

If you have ever wanted to do more to help those in difficult situations, but have been limited by your own financial obligations, the 2008 tax rebate may be a great opportunity to do so.  Nothing could help our society and economy more.

Every day, Volunteers of America helps people of all ages to live self-determined lives.  We provide comprehensive services and support that empower individuals to make positive choices, build stronger families and live productive lives. 

Most individuals who filed a 2007 tax return may get as much as a $600 rebate.  Married couples who filed jointly may receive up to $1,200—and those with children should get an additional $300 per child.  Once you deposit your rebate into your bank account, take the next step by sending a donation to “Volunteers of America of Pennsylvania.”  

For example, a $100 contribution can provide transportation for the elderly and disabled to get to their medical appointments.  A gift of $50 can provide childcare for working families with limited resources.  Every gift, large or small, will be warmly acknowledged.
