Elderly and Disabilities Programs
Growing old should not be a worry. Many of the elderly often feel unsafe staying alone, and in some cases, they cannot afford to live alone. Volunteers of America offers safe, attractive, affordable housing for eligible seniors. Developed, owned and managed by Volunteers of America, the apartments, patio homes, and furnished residences offer access to important community services to help residents maintain their independence.
In Wilkes-Barre and Wyoming Valley, our specially equipped Dial-A-Driver shuttle vans provide transportation for the elderly and disabled who have no other means of transportation to medical appointments, shopping, senior centers, and other quality-of-life destinations.
Our
