A program that promotes housing stability among low-income veteran families who are experiencing or at-risk of experiencing homelessness

Serving Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lebanon, Lancaster, Perry and York counties.

Veteran households who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing housing may be eligible for assistance!

Program Eligibility

You may be eligible to participate in SSVF if:

  • You are a veteran or live in a veteran household
  • You are currently experiencing homelessness
  • You are considered low-income
  • You are behind on your rent and you have an eviction notice or court order stating that you have to leave your  current place of housing 
  • You are expecting to be released from jail, rehab, or another institution and you are without a place to live
  • You are eligible to enroll in HUD-VASH but need help with your security deposit and move -in expenses

**Program specialists will work with individuals & families to determine eligibility

Program Services

Services may include:

  • Rental assistance (including limited rental payments, security deposits, and rental arrear payments)
  • Housing counseling 
  • Landlord mediation and assistance securing moving services
  • Identifying affordable childcare providers
  • Case management
  • Heath care navigation 
  • Daily living services
  • Transportation assistance
  • Budgeting
  • Employment resources
  • Temporary financial assistance
  • Assistance with obtaining VA and other public benefits
  • Vocational and rehabilitation counseling
  • Legal Services
