Volunteers of America Pennsylvania (1896), an affiliate of the national organization, operates 28 human service programs in the Commonwealth.

This summer, Volunteers of America of Pennsylvania (VOAPA) hosted its first Black Maternal Health Fair at the Homewood-Brushton YMCA . Thank you to all who are working to uplift the voices, expand resources, and improve maternal health care for black families in our communities. We were grateful to be joined by Allegheny County’s Black Maternal leaders and advocates Rep. La'Tasha D. Mayes , Jada Shirriel and Melvin Hubbard, Ruth Walker, Emma Alaquiva, Iyanna Bridges, Paula A. Zawadzki, and many more!! Volunteers of America of Pennsylvania continues its’ mission to support children and families in the Southwest, PA region and beyond. Our maternal heath services assist moms and moms-to-be during pregnancy and post-delivery, their children, and families through in-home support, counseling, and material assistance. A shout out goes to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders for featuring Volunteers of America of Pennsylvania (VOAPA) as their Community Organization of the Game! This special night for VOAPA featured a table with information and resources, a pregame interview with Clifton Hall, our Give Hope Program Manager and on the field, Maddie Prestogeorge, our Director of Independent Living threw the ceremonial first pitch!
