About Us:

Providing childcare in downtown Allentown for approximately 100 years, The Children’s Center offers early childhood programs for infants (6 weeks) through Prekindergarten (5 years), as well as a before-school care, after-school care, and summer camp for elementary school students up to 5th Grade.

Our Philosophy:

We know that our most important learning happens in our earliest years. We also know that these building-block years are critical to putting children on the path to happy, healthy, and successful lives. That’s why our centers are safe, fun, and inclusive. We emphasize learning through play, using hands-on activities to engage your child’s interests and softly teach them the concepts that will benefit them for life. Each child is unique and our experienced educators inspire them to grow at their own pace.

Our Programs:

Unlike traditional day cares, we focus on learning and education with a curriculum that’s not only proven, researched, and data-driven, but that’s tailored to the various ages we serve. Education is at the heart of everything we do, and it is most successful when it’s fun, rewarding, and age-based.

Our Curriculum:

At The Children’s Center, we believe that the most important learning happens in the earliest years of life. These foundational years play a critical role in shaping children’s future well-being, confidence, and success.

Our academic approach is rooted in learning through play. Through hands-on, meaningful experiences, children engage with new ideas in ways that feel natural, engaging, and developmentally appropriate. We follow intentional, research-based curriculum that support the whole child, academically, socially, and emotionally, while honoring each child’s unique pace of development.

For our infants through preschoolers, we partner with Frog Street, a proven curriculum that fosters early learning through play, language-rich experiences, and responsive teaching. Our Pre-K students benefit from Three Cheers for Pre-K, an intentional program focused on building the skills and confidence children need for a successful transition to Kindergarten. Our experienced educators thoughtfully guide learning by following children’s interests, using high-quality literature, and creating environments that encourage curiosity, independence, and problem-solving. At The Children’s Center, we are committed to nurturing strong foundations for lifelong learning – one fun-filled, meaningful day at a time!
